A voice agent modeled on the operating system in Her, exploring new ways for people and AI to work together.
Its first app recreates the film’s iconic letter-writing app, my favorite. Speak, watch a handwritten letter take shape, and revise it through conversation. Sending and printing are not built yet.

A work in four acts
Where I have been, who I can still place, what I have forgotten, and where I will be. A three-year city trail with a place to add a memory if you were there with me.
People are shown as initials, and locations as city centers. Notes are read privately before any initials or cities are added.
Three rebuilt telephones · working prototypes
Three old telephones, taken apart and rebuilt one at a time: one to call another time, one for a call that can’t be made, and one to send home.
There is no screen and nothing to learn. You pick it up, you say something, you put it down.
A studio · room-sized prototype
My studio began in an empty classroom near Liangzhu, Hangzhou: workbenches, 3D printers and AI agents in one room.
I think of it as a first prototype of the creator, the machine that comes after the computer. The room was packed up in July 2026; the lab now travels with me.
